Inulin, a fructooligosaccharide (FOS), is a soluble prebiotic fiber that is resistant to digestion and reaches the large intestine essentially intact. Probiotic bacteria in the gut consume inulin and, in turn, produce short-chain fatty acids that nourish the cells lining the colon. Inulin helps maintain intestinal health and function. Inulin has a pleasant taste that adds a slight sweetness to foods and beverages, but it has a very low glycemic index and will not have a negative effect on serum glucose levels.
Suggested Use
Take 1 level teaspoon 1 to 3 times daily. Mix the product with your favorite beverage or food. Start with 1 teaspoon per day and slowly increase the dose to limit gastrointestinal discomfort.
